Cabuya Costa Rica Surfing in July

Surfing Conditions in July

July is a great time for surfing in Costa Rica’s Nicoya Peninsula, with sunny days, rainy nights, and warm water. The absence of strong winds creates amazing surfing conditions.

Big Swell and Marine Bottoms

The big storms in the oceans close to Antarctica produce large swells with perfect orientation. These swells travel through the south Pacific ocean until approaching Cabuya, Montezuma, and Santa Teresa, where they find different types of marine bottoms, creating long and perfect waves for all levels and ages.

Less Crowded High Season

July is a great month for surfing in Cabuya, Montezuma, and Santa Teresa because it’s off the busy high season. There are fewer people around, making surfing sessions more private and chill.

Lavish Wildlife

In July, wildlife is abundant with the rain bringing everything back to life. The jungle is full of bright greens, providing shades and shelter for the massive variety of wildlife in the area. Thirty-five percent of Costa Rica’s territory is protected area, surrounded by National Parks and biological corridors. Nature and wildlife are everywhere!
